IMPORTANT  MESSAGE from Pastor Howard

We are about to enter into a New Year in a very few days.  2008 has been a great year in many ways for Living Rock Church.  We have grown significantly in numbers, but more importantly, we have grown in the Lord.  We have faced many battles as a Church and as individuals, but God has given us the victory.  Jesus said that we would have tribulation in this world, but He said to be of good cheer because He has overcome the world.  The Apostle James said to rejoice when we encounter tests and temptations because they cause us to mature and become perfected in the Lord.  Either way, whether blessing or trial, we have a reason to rejoice.  He is our Lord and we are more than conquerors through Him.

Michigan and America is going through one of the greatest trials in the history of our country.  I believe that the things we are seeing in our country and in the world are the signs that point to the return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  He said we wouldn't know the day or the hour but that we would know the signs of His soon or eminent return.  Since I got saved in 1973, I have seen a huge increase in the circumstances that would point to the soon return of our Lord.  The impact of Islamic terrorism on the world in the last 20 years has changed the way the world operates.  The financial meltdown that has started in the world which many experts say will get worse in 2009 has the potential to bring the whole world to its knees.  Both of these events set the stage, and many are talking about it, for a one world government. 

I believe that the leader of that one world government is alive and well in the world today.  He will step on the scene in the near future when chaos threatens to destroy civilization as we know it.  He will negotiate a pseudo peace and the world will pledge their allegence to him.  I'm talking about the man of sin, the son of perdition, the Anti-Christ.  The stage has been set for that evil one.  The challenge to ever Christian is to get your life in order, get yours eyes on Jesus, and tell others that Jesus is the only hope in this dark hour.

We are also to take courage because our Lord has everything under control.  No matter how bad things look and get, He will keep us and make a way for His own.  In addition, this will be the greatest opportunity that Christians will ever have to spread the Gospel and to win the lost.  Lift up your heads and rejoice, your redempton draws near!  Jesus is coming! Rejoice and be ready!
