IMPORTANT MESSAGE from Pastor Howard- JANUARY, 2012!
HAPPY NEW YEAR! What a blessing to get a fresh start in the New Year. 2011 was a really difficult year for many of you and for our Country and the whole world as well. There were too many disasters and difficulties to begin to list them all. However, you made it this far because of the goodness of the Lord. I continue to be amazed at His great mercy on His creation. If we got what we deserved as a country, the judgment would be so much more severe. The Lord continues to keep His hand upon His church and I believe this beloved country. How much longer will He do so? I don't know, but I pray that He will continue to do so. I know there are many praying desperately for our country to have revival and turn back to God and to stay the judgment. I hope you are praying as well.
There is something truly refreshing about entering a New Year. It might just be symbolic but it seems so much easier to wipe the slate clean and get a fresh start with the start of a New Year. In reality, it is no different than August 1st., but the fact that we can clearly tie it to a change makes it so much easier. I like to remind our people that you cannot change the past, but you can change the future. The only thing that we can do about the past is to repent over it and make restitution where possible. It's like a bell, once you ring it, it can't be un-rung! We may have to deal with the consequences, but we can't undo anything. The great news of the Gospel is that we can get forgiveness for our sins. People may not forgive us, but God will if we repent with a heart of true repentance.
One of the things that we can gain from our failures is experience and wisdom to help change the future. I want to point out that we can't do anything without God's grace, but He is more than willing to give us all that we need. With that in mind, we can make a difference in our own lives and in the lives of others. I hope that you have determined in your heart that you will make 2012 a breakout year for yourself. You might be the greatest Christian on the planet and don't need any improvement, but for me and the rest of us, there is plenty of room for improvement. With that in mind, if we will humble and present ourselves to God, He desires to use each one of us to touch the lives of others and He will use us for His glory.
I believe that there is great potential for more serious disasters in the world that we even saw in 2011. I put no stock in the Mayan calendar that ends in 2012, but I do have confidence in the Word of God and He said that things would wax worse and worse as we get closer to His return. If you know a little about Biblical Prophecy, it is very clear that the signs of our Lord's return are increasing by the day. We will see great natural disasters as well as man made ones, but don't be disheartened or discouraged. God has everything under control. It will be the worst time ever for the world but it will present the greatest opportunities for the church in the history of the church. Present yourself to the Lord and be ready for Him to use you in this New Year. I am excited about the great opportunities He will present us in 2012. Expect a great harvest. In the last days, the Lord said He would pour out His Spirit on all flesh. Get ready for an exciting time and an exciting ride! God bless you in the Lord!
In His Service,
Pastor Frank Howard
