Pastor Howard was one of the founding members when the church started in the basement of his home in 1975.  When the church was incorporated with the state of Michigan in the Spring of 1976, he was the  Pastor.  Pastor Howard pastored and worked for General Motors until he retired in August of 2000 to manage the  building of the new church building here in Romulus.  He has been married to Kay since 1968 and they have two children and seven grandchildren.

Pastor Howard has a heart for the lost and continues to challenge each one to make sure their life is focused on reaching the lost for Christ.  Every activity is selected and planned based on the premise that it will help win someone to Christ or help encourage someone to continue to follow Him and to help them to do so.

Kay has been married to Pastor Howard for over 40 years and he refers to her as his better three-quarters.  She has been a key asset to him and to the church for all of the years that the church has been in existence.  She is not the oldest lady in the church but she is the Mother of the church.  Her love is always evident and many have been won to Christ because of the Love of Christ that she demonstrates constantly.  When you meet her, you cannot forget the love and compassion that she shows each and every person she meets.

Sis. Michele and her husband Rick have been a key part of Living Rock Church since 1995.  Sis. Michele is an avid learner and refers to herself as a professional student because she continues to take Bible class after Bible class.  This speaks volumes about her desire to know more about her Lord and her hunger and thirst for the things of God.  She eagerly takes on any task that she is given and any that she sees that needs to be done.  This website is a product of her jumping in and helping do something that needed to be done, yet, she had no previous experience doing such a project.  It looks great, doesn't it?

Sis. Michele is also an excellent teacher, but one of the greatest gifts she brings to the church is her gift of intercession.  You don't have to be around her long to realize that she is one of the key intercessors in our church.  Living Rock Church would not be where it is at and as blessed as it is without this prayer warrior.  She also heads up the Mentoring process which ties directly to her gifts of teaching and intercession.  Give her a call or send her an email and be blessed by this wonderful saint of God.

God has truly blessed Living Rock Church with a powerful and anointed Worship Leader.  He is married to Michele and they have been a key part of Living Rock Church since 1995.  Bro. Rick is a very gifted singer and before he became a Christian, they world even acknowledged so.  However, the most impressive thing about Bro. Rick is not his singing ability, but the anointing of God that flows in his life.  In addition, his knowledge of worship and what it takes to lead a worship service is first of all a gift from God, but he also studies everything that he can get his hands on about how others worship and what they have learned about worship. 

Our worship services continue to improve and there are times when the anointing is so powerful that it is hard to even stand on the platform.  Bro. Rick puts the effort and energy into every worship service that results in a powerful time before the Lord.  You will be blessed by the blessed and anointed worship that he leads.  He and his wife continue to be a great support to the Pastor and a great blessing to the church and I'm sure you will be blessed by getting to know them.

Bro. Brian Thompson brings many years of experience and training to his areas of responsibility.  Bro. Brian is a gifted Musician who leads his own Gospel Singing Group (Sought Out).  He plays the keyboard for the Worship Team and helps coordinate the music of the other musicians.  Bro. Brian has written many songs which have a great anointing.  God has given him some great songs with a clear and powerful message of the Gospel.  You'll be blessed by both his music, as he supports the worship team and by his songs that he sings frequently in our services.

Bro. Brian is very organized and has had excellent experience and is well qualified to lead our Education Ministry.  Our church has been growing steadily and this has presented some nice problems for all of us.  It has been a good challenge for our Sunday School and Wednesday night class needs.  Bro. Brian has done and excellent job keeping this whole activity coordinated and making sure each class has a qualified teacher and good Bible based material to use. 

Nothing is more important to the church than Godly training for our own children.  You are encouraged to get yourself and your children into Sunday School and into Wednesday night's Family Training hour to keep yourself grounding and to assist in training your children in the ways of the Lord.  You can trust and rest assured that your children will be taught the Bible clearly and accurately when you bring them to LRC.

Bro. Brian is also very creative and in addition to his music and teaching ministry, he heads up our Church Drama Team.  He did a great job during Easter this year with the production, "The Awakening".  We have other things planned in the future.  If you are interested in getting involved in any of Bro. Sis. Stephanie is married to Bro. Brain Thompson and they have two children: Matthew and Collin.  This whole family is a powerful witness for the Lord and we are blessed to have all of them as part of LRC.  Sis. Stephanie coordinates the Children's Church activities and teaches the older of the two groups on Sunday morning.  Children's Church is a ministry to teach and minister to our children at an age appropriate level during the preaching portion of the morning worship service.  She is very creative and the children love to go to their time of training.  She doesn't just play games and entertain the children.  She sees to it that the children are taught the Word of God and they love it. 

If you haven't been to the Children's Church area on our second floor, you need to take time to go see this area and talk to Sis. Stephanie to see how powerful this ministry really is in the lives of our children.  If you have children, you will want to get them in this class.  Sis.  Stephanie brings much experience to her position and knows what it takes to teach the children and keep them involved and interested in what she is teaching.  Her creativity is a God given gift that is much appreciated by the church and Pastor Howard.

Sis. Betty Kelly has been a Christian for over 25 years and is a serious student of the Bible.  Her powerful, Bible based teaching is highly anointed by the Holy Spirit.  She teaches the Adult Sunday School class at LRC and you can be assured that when her class is over, you have been served Godly teaching from the Bible that is meat and potatoes, not twinkies and cream puffs.  If you enjoy straight shooting, Bible centered teaching that will challenge your heart, you'll love her class.  It is practical teaching that goes into depth that few teachers every approach.  Pastor Howard appreciates the non-compromising position and standards that Sis. Betty maintains and advocates.

Sis. Betty also heads up our Women's ministry and does a great job of motivating the Ladies in all of their activities.  Pastor Howard really appreciates the support  the Ladies Ministry gives him and the church.  The Ladies have done some awesome things both in fund raising and in ministering to the needs of the church.  Not only do they raise funds for their own activities, but they have helped raise a significant amount of the money required for the Pastor's mission trip to Turkey and Israel rescheduled for April 2009. 

Sis. Betty is always looking for other Women to get involved in the many activities that they are planning and organizing.  Feel free to contact her if you are interested in helping in any way.

Bro. John Dunn heads up the Men's Ministry.  He has taken on this responsibility because he has a heart for the men of LRC.  John is an avid hunter, fisher and outdoorsman,  and is a softball enthusiasts.  He coaches the LRC softball team as well.  He brings all of this expertise and experience to the Men's Ministry and relates to all of the men as a result.  John's Dad, Rick Dunn, Sr., Pastors a church in Southwest Detroit.  Bro. John's wife Angie sings on the worship team, teaches a Sunday School class, and minsiters the Word.  His daughter Joselyn helps the worship team display the songs during the worship service.

John is also one of our key Ushers and recently, he started to help run the Sunday night services.  It is exciting to see him take the lead in these different areas and to see him grow and take on the responsibilities that God has ordained for him to fulfill.  Feel free to contact him for information on any of our activities.

Bro. Leslie Kelly is one of the key pillars in Living Rock Church.  He has been our head Usher and one of our Trustees for a number of years.  He came to LRC with a great background in the Lord and demonstrates the Heart of the Lord with compassion and love for all.  He has been saved for approximately 20 years and has been a great supporter of the Pastor and this work since coming to LRC almost 10 years ago.  In addition to his responsibilities as Head Usher, He is also one of the Churches trustees and leads the service on Sunday Evening.

It has been such a blessing to see him step forward and take on his responsibilites with enthusiasm and energy.  He has had a real battle with Arthritis in the last 3 years but he continues to do his job and work through the pain.  He has been a real testimony to the whole church by his dedication in the midst of great pain and suffering.  It has been a great joy to see him grow in the Lord and in the Word as he leads the service on Sunday evening.  You are encouraged to come to our Sunday evening Miracle service and enjoy what God is doing through Bro.
